About Turnitin

Anti-plagiarism software compares submissions with internet sources and its database, with coverage from 1996 to the present.

Turnitin is a plagiarism checker for academic work such as theses and journal articles. It detects overlapping text and compares it with supported sources in over 50 languages.

Account setup for faculty, researchers, scholars, and staff

  1. Request a new account through your faculty office with your full name (English), faculty, mobile number, and university email only (username@su.ac.th or username@silpakorn.edu).
  2. Your faculty office forwards the details to phoungsuwan_s@silpakorn.edu.
  3. The administrator processes the request; Turnitin then emails you.
  4. As an instructor, complete account creation using the instructions in that email.

First-time login

  1. Log in for the first time.
  2. Set additional security using Secret question and Question Answer.

For students

  1. Go to www.turnitin.com.
  2. Create an account using your university email only (username@su.ac.th or username@silpakorn.edu).
  3. Obtain the Class ID and Enrollment Key from your instructor.

Frequently asked questions

Uploading papers for similarity checking
In the assignment, open More actions and under Submit papers to: choose no repository if you do not want the submission stored in Turnitin’s repository.
Deleting an uploaded file
Do not delete submitted work yourself. To request removal, email the administrator at phoungsuwan_s@silpakorn.edu with the Paper ID.
Students cannot see the similarity (originality) report
In the assignment settings, set Allow students to see Similarity Report? to Yes.
Forgotten password or secret answer
Use Forgot your password? on the login page, or Forget your answer and follow the link in Turnitin’s email to reset your password.
